Supplier sourcing

How to compare hotel lock quotations beyond the unit price

Give suppliers the same brief, then compare what each price includes. A lower unit price can leave important work outside the quotation; a larger collected catalogue does not prove stronger installation or support capability.

Send one brief to every shortlisted supplier

Start with the measured door schedule and required operating workflow. State the quantities by installation type, the software already in use and the work you expect the supplier to include. Ask each bidder to identify assumptions and exclusions rather than quietly pricing a different configuration.

  • Exact model, mortise, finish and credential method.
  • Door survey and fitting constraints, with an identified sample door.
  • Issuing equipment, software, interfaces and required demonstrations.
  • Installation, training, handover documents and support scope.

Put the quotation into comparable lines

Use this worksheet to compare the same quotation scope. Use “not confirmed” where an answer is absent.

Read evidence at the right level

A supplier profile identifies public company information; a product record collects claims about a model; a technical document has its own edition and scope. Keep those levels separate. Use the product count to understand catalogue coverage.

Use a named model’s document as a worked example of what to request. For instance, an installation-and-user manual can answer a different question from a parameter sheet. Do not transfer its dimensions or procedures to another product just because the housings look alike.

Keep unanswered items in the decision

  1. Record the missing answer and which party must provide it.
  2. Ask for an exact-model or configuration-specific response.
  3. Keep conflicting statements next to their sources.
  4. Make sample approval and acceptance conditions explicit.
  5. Recheck the final quotation against the accepted configuration before ordering.

Our label “品牌尚未公布” means no publicly matched technical-document link was verified in the stated search range. Ask for the missing file and confirm its scope before treating it as resolved.

Choose against the property’s requirements

Should the cheapest proposal win?

Compare price only after bringing included work and configuration onto the same basis. Record why any unresolved item is acceptable or blocks the decision.

Does this platform verify a supplier’s local service promise?

Public records are a research starting point. Confirm the actual Malaysia contracting, installation and support arrangements directly in the proposal.
